Best Barbados Beaches

5 Best Beaches in Barbados

Though small, Barbados is one of the Caribbean’s most developed islands. As the easternmost island in the region, Barbados is easily accessible from both Europe and North America – its major tourist markets. The excellent infrastructure and celebrity-class resorts are bolstered by the famously safe and friendly disposition of locals.

While the island abounds with fun things to do and places to go, there is little doubt that the fulcrum of its massive tourist industry rotates around its beautiful beaches. In addition, all beaches are accessible to the public. Some of the Barbados top beaches include:

  • Church Point Beach – A clean and sheltered beach whose waters are nearly always calm with little to no undertow. The Church Point beach is perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
  • Cattlewash Beach – The longest beach in Barbados, Cattlewash is a popular relaxation and sightseeing location. Several kilometers long, swathes of this beach are often deserted and undercurrents are often strong, which means you should take extra care when swimming.
  • Crane Beach – Regularly rated among the best beaches in the Carribean, the Crane Beach fronts one of the island’s oldest hotels – the Crane Beach Hotel. A popular destination for honeymooners for close to 150 years, the huge waves make it ideal for body surfing.
  • Brighton Beach – Yet another calm and long beach, Brighton’s crystal clear waters are good for swimming. You have to be careful not to be pricked by sea urchins though especially if you will be swimming close to the reefs.
