Majini, meaning “On The Water” in Swahili, offers a choice of 3 fully equipped self-catering cottages, all situated in a beautiful garden setting in the Constantia Valley, and yet just 20 minutes from the centre of Cape Town.

This is an oasis of peace and tranquility, with the lush garden setting offering superb views of Elephant’s Eye Peak.
Majini is owned and run by Suzy Digby-Smith, who built the original property some 16 years ago, when she finally settled in the Cape, having lived in both Africa and England. Well-travelled, and with a great sense of décor and eye for attention to detail, Suzy has embellished each of the 3 cottages at Majini with its own unique style.
HADEDA COTTAGE, has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a comfortable relaxing lounge with sofas and wing back armchair, dining area and modern kitchen.
The main bedroom has a queen-size bed, with 2 singles in the second bedroom. The main bathroom has a bath, shower and loo, the other eneuite a shower and loo.
The large private patio overlooks the whole garden, and is equipped with table, chairs, loungers, fridge and Weber braai.
The décor in Hadedaconsists of many of David Shepherd’s paintings, and also golfing artifacts, including some clubs and photos from a bygone era!
For the cooler winter evenings, there is a log fireplace in the lounge, and also panel heaters.
THE GALLERY is a single bedroomed unit, with queen-size bed, and en-suite loo and shower.
There is a comfortable lounge with 2 generous sofas and a wingback chair, dining room, and fully-equipped kitchen.
It also has a private patio, with table, chairs, loungers, and Weber braai.
The Gallery contains much of Suzy’s eclectic artwork gathered over the years from her travels.
THE POOL HOUSE is also one bedroomed, with a large adjoining dressing area. There is an open-plan lounge/dining area and compact, well-equipped kitchen. The queen-sized bed comes complete with a kiwinet for the “Out of Africa” feel!
It is situated next to the large swimming pool, but again with its own patio, table, chairs, loungers, Weber braai, and also a hammock overlooking the adjacent duck pond!
The pool itself is salt-water, with a large surrounding deck, tables and chairs for all guests, and a boma-fire to really warm things up!
All cottages enjoy free WiFi, TV, Sound System, DSTV, on-site secure parking, personal safe, panel heaters, dressing gowns, hairdryer, regular servicing, and laundry facilities. Use of the small gym facilities in the main house can be arranged by appointment.
Everyone is welcome to help themselves to any fresh vegetables or herbs from the abundant garden, and if the chickens are laying, you are sure of a good supply of eggs!
Suzy wants to make sure that you settle in quickly, and easily high-jumps the hospitality bar set by most self-catering guesthouse owners, happily stocking the fridge and cupboards with a wide range of provisions, fresh fruit and flowers, plus a bottle of wine all with compliments!
Come as a guest, leave as a friend! The many repeat-visit guests are testament to the warmth and friendliness that you will experience with Suzy at Majini Guest House!
